She Gathers Rain is off of Collective Soul’s, ”Collective Soul” album, released in March 1995. There’s not a bad track on this whole album. It’s got great arrangements, lyrics, and vocals. What more do you need? I love the guitar work on this song.
The album, Collective Soul (sometimes referred to as the Blue Album to differentiate from the second self-titled album) is the second studio album by Collective Soul. It became the band’s highest selling album to date, going Triple-Platinum, and spent 76 weeks on the Billboard 200 charts.
Today she dresses for the change she’s faces now
And the storm that’s raging a safe haven she has found
She doesn’t care what the prophets say anymore
For the love she had, she has no more
So she gathers rain, yeah, she gathers rain
To rinse away all her guilt and pain
So she gathers rain, yeah, she gathers rain
To wash and cleanse and make her whole again
Her imagination has started stretching wide
And her new convictions, no longer will she hide
She’s not branded, when the prophets speak words of fire
The same love she gives, she requires
So she gathers rain, yeah, she gathers rain
To rinse away all her guilt and pain
So she gathers rain, yeah, she gathers rain
To wash and cleanse and make her whole again
For the love she had, she has no more
So she gathers rain, yeah, she gathers rain
To rinse away all her guilt and pain
So she gathers rain, yeah, she gathers rain
To wash and cleanse and make her whole again
So she gathers rain, yeah, she gathers rain
To rinse away all her guilt and pain
So she gathers rain, yeah, she gathers rain
To wash and cleanse and make her whole again

Catfish don’t have scales, they have smooth rubbery skin. These are koi/big goldfish/carp.

Love the sound of Collective Soul. I have a couple of albums by them. Well, a cassette and a CD. Funny story about the cassette. I called the radio station back then to find out who was singing ‘Shine’, and they told me. Said I could have a free cassette of theirs if I’d come get it. So I did … and it was in another town 32 miles away! haha 🙂

Thanks Max glad you like them. I’ve been on the go pretty much all day. Headed out for lunch, was online for a bit, then headed outside to move brush and then mow for 3 hours. I cleared from the edge of the road best as I could with my loppers and a wheelbarrow, but the way the large limbs are resting on the electric pole and all around it, I’m very leery and concerned. Called the road commission today to ask they clear “their” footage they are so pushy about saying they pretty much own, but they said anything to do with electric lines call electric company. I did and I explained they got the power going then left but didn’t clean up the debris. She said, “oh that is a separate cleanup crew.” I said, “well it’s been a month an no cleanup crew.” She said she would put the work order in and I should see something happen within 5 days. OK as long as a storm doesn’t hit and take out my power again, I’m ok with that. What’s 5 more days after a month of nothing?

Those utility companies can be so deep in red tape that nothing gets done. It is a hair pulling experience trying to get anything out of them.
Don’t you hate getting the run around? I’ve almost exploded a few times…like the DMV…wait in a line for over an hour and then being told that I need another form…go to another line….that happened to me…I said…that information would have been great an hour ago.
I’m not a patient person when it comes to lines. I would rather be hit by sticks than to wait in line. My wife sighs if there is a long wait at a restaurant…she knows she is going to hear me bitch lol.
My heart goes out to you… I know the frustration.
