Reena’s Exploration Challenge #101 — Look closely

He still remembers
the day the moon came in
and blocked the sun.

His favorite toy,
the orange bunny
named Carrot,

was taken.

Carrot’s shadow is
still seen floating
past the moon on
warm summer nights

if you look closely.

    Beautiful! It looks like Carrot is trying to reach out to his young friend. May they connect again!

    Reminds me of the story of the Rabbit in the Moon;
    The moon rabbit or moon hare is a figure in Asian folklore who lives on the Moon, based on pareidolia interpretations that identify the markings of the Moon as a rabbit or hare. The folklore originated in China and then spread to other Asian cultures.
    Also a bit of the Velveteen Rabbit, but that story had a happy ending, at least for the bunny.

      Interesting about the rabbit in the moon. It wouldn’t happen to be blue would it? I wrote about a blue rabbit recently and Kerfe’s Rorshach artwork has a blue rabbit in it. I adore the story of The Velveteen Rabbit. The book is precious and the video with Meryl Streep narrating is beyond precious.

        You can look up the Rabbit in the Moon story – I think a blue moon is just the second full moon of the month ;)
