Reena’s Exploration Challenge #113 — Once

Once
Cocoons
Fashioned from
Nothing to form
We came to exist
Nestled and nurtured life
Immersed in air, water, earth
A living seed, destined to sprout
Grace and vision foundation’s blueprint
Metamorphosed! Butterflies realized!
Liberated wings, tired from wiggling out
Open and close slowly, practicing
While we rest, wind-kissed promises
Wings rested now, fluttering
Wind catches them – liftoff!
Marvelous wide sky
What’s that I smell?
Pink breakfast
Straw sips
World

The poem is in (double) etheree form.

You’re very welcome! A very memorable poem… I really do remember people’s poetry. And so many poems are memorable. And when I see a poet’s name I remember a poem they had written, even if it was three or four years ago, this one is one of those poems!☀️

I like how you combine evolution of the universe to the life of a butterfly, in a manner they look incomplete without each other.

I guess we have defined life by respiration or transitoriness or physical structures. Who are we to say that the everlasting mountains or stone structures are not ‘alive’. They know a lot more than we do.

I couldn’t agree more, Reena! We are all endlessly recycled atoms as far as I can figure.
