What do you see? # 10 — The Time Clown

Copyright: ALEXEY AVDEEV

This-es and thats for the year complete
Gathered with care, for Time Clown’s feat
Put on strings he makes them rise
As soon they’ll say goodbye
Old makes way for new
With hope so true
This New Year
Comes with
Cheer

Amen to that Li! It’s spot on for the prompt and the time of the year. Thanks for participating in the prompt.

I don’t mind happy clowns… but the sad ones and the not so nice ones… I can do without them. Letting his balloons go and starting with a clean slate for the New Year – a good plan for anyone 🙂

PS Thank you – I did a second piece via ‘Mr. Wafflepants’ point of view 😉
I had actually thought of a rather scary odd piece, but I’ll let that one go…

Thanks for the comment and I enjoyed both of your Mr. Wafflepants stories. Clowns are now easy targets as scary protagonists. I’m glad you deferred…

I like the symbolism of tying last year’s “this-es and thats” to balloons and letting them go, especially the negative thats. A great poem to kick off the new year!
