He alerted America to the dangers of driving a Covair, especially the fatal accidents involved in rear end crashes and I am sure that he did other things for automotive safety.

Funnily enough I reposted a flashback post yesterday about a British politician called Tomy Benn. One of his best-known quotes is “if you’ve fot the money to kill people, then you’ve got the money to help people”. Same thing.
