dVerse — MTB — Crane Promise

A Spring afternoon surprise:
feathered statues stand
where none known have stood before.
Blent, tan, and in matched

bless of ancient lore,
nod with grace, sun lift as one,
and vow green morrow.

Grace is today’s host of dVerse’ Meet The Bar.  Grace says:
Today’s challenge is to write a seguidilla. You choose your theme and set the mood. If one stanza is not enough for you, you can continue to add, following the seguidilla pattern of rhyme and number of lines.

What a joy to see them, specially in spring season.
I love how you describe them in stillness, then their movements in the second part. The music is lovely too.

It was such a surprise to pull into the driveway and see them there. The flash on my phone when I took the picture spooked them I think. I hope they come back! Thanks for your lovely comments, Grace.

  2. To see cranes is such a sure sign of spring… here in Sweden there is a place where they gather in mass and “dance” before they go away in pairs.

I think I swooned for the first time, reading this line. I’m not sure – what is swooning like?

lol didn’t you swoon in your poem earlier this week? I put blent in there and then went to confirm it was a word. It was staying whether it was or not. What good is language if we can’t mess with it for fun?
