Poem origin story: I googled wine terms and found a wonderful little list here then decided to create a modified erasure poem. You’ll notice most letters of the alphabet have been used. I had a lot of fun with this bawdy and somewhat surreal offering.
Linda is today’s host of dVerse’ Quadrille. Linda says:
The word today is Wine or any form thereof, or even one you create containing the word.
Lisa- I love all the words. This is one raucous sensational quadrille!

Linda thank you! It was such fun.

How on earth did you manage to fit all those wine terms into 44 words, Lisa! Some feat! I like alliteration in ‘Corked Chianti and her sister Chablis decant’, a clever capture of crisp wines, and ‘magnums of merry merlot’.

Thanks much, Kim. The funnest one I’ve written in awhile.

So much fun, and very clever, Lisa!
Our younger daughter has been studying to be a sommelier, so we have lots of wine discussions.

Merril, thanks! Is that the same daughter who plays the organ? I don’t drink much wine, but I love my cider as you know.

You’re welcome. Cider seems to be the next thing.
I don’t have a daughter who plays the organ. She’s an English teacher, and she also studied voice and theater.

Oops sorry, I thought it was your daughter. I know one of the dVersians has a daughter who does 🙂
