The Sunday Muse 159 — The End?

“Forest Traffic!” Digital Art by Pulkit Kudiwal

One late afternoon
as golden sun tired
and headed to bed,
mother’s children
waited for signs
to allay their dread.
You see, the sea was
churning with chum
where darkness comes
and chokes.
And the air, blanket ash
from fires run amok.
And ground bleeding oil
from fracker spears and
pipelines.
Humans, arrogant, foolish
falling by the millions dead.
Without the words of man
but with the silent prayers
of their kind, they ask,
Is this the end?”

Carrie is today’s host for The Sunday Muse.

If it isn’t the end then the end is very close. Fracking may be the last straw.
    Nicely told, MSJ.

I hope they are asking if it is the end of their torment when humans are removed from the ecology of the planet.

This just sent shivers down my spine. The “fracker spears” hit; this was like an apocalyptic snow globe!
