Rain clouds convened on the cursed setting like PCB-laced icing on a hemlock cake. To many NYC’s Lady Liberty was an icon of salvation; to the rest it was an itching reminder of hypocrisy.
Downing and Delta loaded their backpacks with climbing gear, paintball guns, and red paint pellets.
“Looks like rain’s coming,” said Downing. “Should we wait for another day?”
“No. If it does, it will make the paint glisten,” said Delta.
The ferry reached Ellis by 9.
Delta was right.
NYPD’s SWAT team harpooned them; they graced “Carrie” for days – all captured via live dronecast.

Not much happened to kids playing pranks in the old days. Nowadays it’s a whole other game. I had my fair share of fun as a youngster.

I have my fair share, her fair share, and their fair share lol. We did some really stupid stuff and dangerous now that I think back…throwing water balloons at cars…and hitting a few with T tops…
I’m glad we learned our lesson early…we were chased by teenagers and got away….never again.

Nothing like a little fun on a rainy day. Although I favor reading books and staying inside and not having a criminal record personally. Fun story.

My career before retirement was in the criminal justice field. I interviewed a judge many moons ago and he told me about the rule of thirds with the law: 1/3 will follow the law no matter what it is, 1/3 will break the law and will not be dissuaded, and 1/3 need to be convinced. He felt most resources should be directed towards the 1/3 that could be convinced. I’m thinking you stand firmly in the first 1/3. Glad you liked the story, thank you.
