Today was such a relaxing day. The days-long showers have taken the humidity out of the air. The sun was shining and the temp was an even 70F as I headed to Grand Rapids to see my oldest son. His girlfriend was out of state visiting a sister so it was just me and him for lunch at a taco fast foodish place that was even selling margaritas to go. First time ever seeing that. Anyway, we had good healthy food — I drank only water — and good conversation. Then he had to get to the airport to pick up his girlfriend so I dropped him back at his place. Afterwards, I headed to one of the labyrinths in Grand Rapids that I found through the labyrinth locator last year. Such a peaceful place, even with the sounds of highway traffic in the distance. I got some good pics and even made a short video. (click on photo caption links to enlarge them in a new window)

Also at the entrance and on both sides of the trellis is lush sedum groundcover in bloom.

The windchimes at the entrance played music in this video.
Since I only took a couple of picture at the gigantic Countryside Greenhouse in Allendale last week I didn’t post them, so they are tagging on to this. I’ve never seen these passion flowers blooming outside but they were doing great in the greenhouse. I also noticed pods hanging from the vines and took a pic of one.

You’d a great outing. Visit with your son, saw a lot of beautiful and green beauties growing.

I was kind of surprised the church wasn’t having a Sunday evening service.

Yes, perhaps due to covid restrictions?

May be. In MI pretty much everything is open again, but maybe some still choose to stay closed?

Perhaps!

Margaritas to go…the only place I’ve heard of that is the Florida beaches… I like the two Stones side by side….and the birdbath or whatever it is. Looks so peaceful there.
Glad you had such a good day Lisa.

It’s amazing that there are so many of them all over the place. You should check one out and walk it!

It is well cared-for. Some of the plants look like mini “tree from hell” (tree of heaven) which I’m not real crazy about… Yes, I did have a great day, thanks, Mark.

What a BEAUTIFULLY put-together labyrinth! Nice place to linger on a warm, sunny summer afternoon!

It was! It’s 10 degrees warmer in GR but it was later in the day so just right.

I loved the music they made for the video 🙂 Yes, happy to see him 🙂 The place we went for lunch had a nice VW van in there. I should have taken a pic of it.

Yeah, really nice pics. I’m always amazed at how weird passion flowers can look. They almost look like some kind of animal. Your video with the wind chimes is nice. I could literally listen to that all day…..

Thank you, Stacey. It may be my imagination but both times I went to that labyrinth, the wind chimes were silent until I walked through the entrance trellis and past them. Agreed on the passion flowers!
