When the sun warms my face,
when the wind blows my hair,
I can feel grey erase.
A direct shot of grace,
it reads like a prayer
when the sun warms my face.
Benediction in rays
to disperse earthly cares,
I can feel grey erase.
I forget my mistakes,
cast my doubts to the air
when the sun warms my face.
Content thoughts interlace
in the now, unimpaired,
as I feel grey erase.
There’s nothing that weighs;
a prescription most fair
when the sun warms my face
as I sigh, grey erased.
Today’s offering is in villanelle form.
Carrie is today’s host for The Sunday Muse.
What a beautiful poem Li.

Sun definitely is a beautiful thing that can keep the blue at bay. That being said, perhaps with music being the only exception, I’d say everything in moderation! 🙂
I just came back running some Saturday errands. The sun is great, except it feels like a 100 degrees in my area, though it looks like inclement weather is coming. We’re on severe thunderstorm watch.
When that happens, especially when combined with high wind, I always get a bit uneasy, since we have a million tall trees around our house, and they don’t seem to be in the best shape.
Oh, well, I guess sometimes you just can’t win! 🙂

Shay thank you. It didn’t help that when I was about halfway through the screen went blank so I was forced to turn the computer off “cold” and when I came back it hadn’t saved. Not a happy camper!

Kerfe, I got your postcard today ❤ 🙂 To have one of your creations in my hands instead of looking at it on a screen is a very cool feeling. Love the art and love the verse. What a neat stamp on it also!

I’m glad it arrived! Our post office only delivers mail when they feel like it, so I may have to wait for yours…(there was even an article in the paper about how bad they are)

Dang. As long as it gets there, I’m happy.

They delivered nothing for the last 2 days so maybe today. I did get one postcard last week. And I have another batch ready to mail.

Reading this makes me, now old, feel young again. For a moment, just a moment. Then I feel my aches and pains again, see the red spots all over my body, and scratch the dermatitis bumps in my balding spots. I feel very old again.
But wish I was on that speeding boat once more.

Haha. Thank you, “Someone” lol
I like how everyone’s so nonchalantly saying, “Great villanelle.” “What a wonderful villanelle!” while I have to go look it up ’cause I’ve never heard of it! Quatrain–yes. Tercets–no !! hahaha
Was I actually an English major or was I a bimbo posing as a college student, lol ??:!!!

You showed up as “Someone” on the comment; I didn’t refer to you as that because you didn’t know a poetry form! lol Stacie, as of 2018 I knew the names of just a few. Being in poetry groups and bookmarking websites full of forms has been a fun learning process.

Oh, yeah, I know, Li. That actually WASN’T me. It is an anonymous person, so I was just laughing at your, “Thank you, someone,” ’cause they didn’t leave a name. It tickled my funny bone.
But yeah, despite your groups and self-learning, I definitely think I have some knowledge gaps. Thank God I have you to help me fill them in. Even if I don’t pursue these things immediately, they’re definitely planting a seed. 🙂 🙂
