Oh baby girl how I heart you,
a timelessness transporter to
grace divine.
Wrinkles disappear,
gravity lightens
with your toothless smile.
Pitted stone weeps,
chest’s choke cranked,
chugging on the joy line.
Your coo delivers cool
healing to all passengers.
We’re at our destination.

De (aka whimsygizmo) is today’s host for dVerse’ Quadrille Monday. De says:
Put your heart into it, and pen us a poem of precisely 44 words (not counting the title), including some form of the word heart.
There is nothing better than a baby’s laughter to make you feel young again… so sweet.

So gorgeous! I love how the wrinkles of age are soothed by the dimples of a baby’s smile 🙂 It’s like rolling back the clock!

Thank you, Ingrid. Yes 🙂 Also, I just logged into goodreads and see you added The Anthropocene Hymnal. Very cool. I did just a brief review for now.

Yes, it’s good that it’s there. A *lot* of people are on goodreads so it will be seen by a lot of people.

Lisa,
Transfiguring, transcendent, yet immanent: you capture love’s faces in the face of a child and its beholder.

Excellent as always. There’s a nice progression, a clean appreciation, and of course – a sense of “heart”. I enjoyed it.

My heart melted as I saw the image. 💖
Your quadrille makes it evident how much you heart her.
I especially liked “a timelessness transporter to
grace divine”. Made me remember that feeling of divine grace, wing-beats of history, and death-rebirth as I sat cradling my boys as newborns.

Helene, that’s exactly what I was thinking about the transport, as she does transport me back to when my sons were newborns. Then I look up and see my son is now a man. Thanks and glad it brought those memories back to you.

I always feel lost on blogs. The gush of positive approval from all sides is like standing in a room with rising water levels. Lukewarm water, but water you know is going to hit your throat and keep going.

Open the door and you’ll be fine. Positive approval is better than being attacked or ignored, yes?

And I mean a grandbaby not another child, as my teen keeps me busy and my dog barks too much for another baby! 😅

My kids are in their mid to late 30’s. With your child being a teen, you’ve got some time yet.

One can never feel the strain of hearing the cooing of babies when travelling. Arrival time is somewhat shortened! Very true Jade!
