Bob Dylan, One Too Many, 2020 Image courtesy of Bob Dylan (as published on Smithsonian’s web page)
JUST came across this and haven’t read or looked at it yet, but oh my, does it look good.
See Bob Dylan’s Cinematic Paintings, Welded Sculptures and More
A comprehensive collection of the iconic songwriter’s visual art is on display for the first time in the United States
Wow! Looking forward to reading this!

Dora, I read it just after posting and it isn’t as lengthy or detailed as I would have hoped. Also, I was thinking it was going to be an exhibit in The Smithsonian itself, but it’s at a gallery in Florida.

I’m surprised, given its Dylan! 😦

Wow, Dylan truly is an artist through and through. I didn’t realize he paints and does sculptures!

Christian, I knew he did paintings that found their way onto album covers, but I had no idea he’s created hundreds of mixed media artworks. Would love to see this exhibit if it ever comes around here.

I had no ideas that Bob Dylan was an artist.

He’s a talented guy! Besides his song lyrics he’s also a poet.

Many of his songs are poetic.

I like the guitar in black and white. The paintings are not my cup of tea. But I wonder when he had the time…(K)

The guitar one is in the same style as the cover of his Planet Waves album. I like that one also. Yes, when did he have the time??

I didn’t know he was that good. I like the one with the guy with the cigarette…all of them are cool though.

I do too, Max! Was surprised to learn how prolific he has been with his art.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have a book with some of his early drawings, Writings and Drawings by Bob Dylan, published 1973.

You’re welcome. Neat that you have something from him in that time period. I hope the exhibit travels the country or settles somewhere near here (e.g. Chicago.)
