jar + water + light = night magic

jar water light 1221

I keep a mason jar with water at my bedside to fill the vaporizer with in winter.  I also have gotten used to using a small low-watt led light as a hand-held night light as I go through my bedtime ritual of turning on the fan, filling the vaporizer, lighting incense, turning on the heating pad, etc.  The night I snapped this picture, I’d laid the light down in front of the mason jar so it was shining up. Noticing what a neat effect it was, I grabbed the phone and snapped a pic.  To me it’s a magical image.  It has not been edited or manipulated (except for cropping.)

eyes widen; I smile
elements weave in shadow
bring magic light

Thanks, Merril! Question: did you see this at WP or at facebook first? Just asking because I linked WP to fb and used this post as a tester.

I just do in manually for FB and Twitter so I can write an intro if I want.

Looks like you have some light trapped in a jar…that is really cool.

I love light magic—all the more when captured on camera. So often it’s impossible to document the moment you’ve seen and cosmically been a part of.

  6. Holy cow, what an amazing picture, Lisa! It looks like a piece of modern art. In fact, I think it would make for a pretty cool album cover!

Wonderful light effect. Can anyone else see a face in there, or is it just me?
