grooves deepen on this sunny day
No ivory tickles needed
When steady muse heartbeat heeded
Smoke curls, blue, lazy, upward rise
Windless rapture behind closed eyes
Bongo trio passes the joint
Lubricated, our smiles annoint

I had no idea James Dean had ever played a bongo. Then again, I don’t know much about him, though I’ve watched all three of his big movies.

I didn’t either, until I saw that image and heard him on the youtube video. You know I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of his movies!

Wow, I can’t believe such movies exist (that I have watched but you haven’t)!
The caveat with the James Dean movies in my case is that I watched them during my teenage years back in Germany, not exactly yesterday! :-)

You sharpened a piece of my memories of James Dean. I had a car like his, mine was a 1950 Mercury, his was a 1949. He was just a couple of years older than me but I liked him and his movies a lot. I have one recorded to watch now from Turner.
