Doodads — Yard Pics and More

DOODADS BANNER

Now that the weather is making things grow and charging my soular battery I’ve been out there and taking more pics.  It’s amazing how much the heat accelerates the process.  Plus, several weeks ago I took a survey for our local conservation district as to what I would like to see their resources go to in our area.  My name was entered in a random drawing for a garden package and I won the big prize.  I chose the wetland garden package to plant out back and picked it up this morning.  Not only that, but I was delighted to see they had prickly pear cactus in containers for sale for only $5!!!!!

life springs anew from the oak sapling that was under attack last year from tent caterpillars. You can see the “dead end” but the oak says funk dat I’m tough. Thank you to all who were right last year that this beautiful tree would survive the attack.

Wow Li that’s amazing! You must be thrilled! Congrats! 😊🎉
My little seedlings are trying to adjust outside on my balcony. Sunflowers (minis), Runner Beans, Moonflower and Morning Glory vines are doing fine. I’m not sure about the tomatoes and lettuce etc we’ll see.
I’m so happy for you! ((HUGS))xox

Thanks, Jen. I was geeked when I got the email I’d won. You’ve got a lovely collection of plants to tend. Will the beans and morning glory climb the sunflowers and moonflowers?

Probably at some point LOL I might of mixed the morning glories and moonflowers. The sunflowers are minis so I have a potful growing (8 I think) (YAY!) and more in a balcony planter box. I also have coleus I’ve babying over winter. They’ve been outside for a least a week so 😊🤞
        I’m so thrilled for you!💜

  2. Looks lovely, Lisa. You seem to have a green thumb! While I’m definitely not a gardener, I do enjoy looking at plants. I’m fortunate my wife is much more into gardening – I know, pretty lazy! 🙂

What a treat! That is one good prize. And so much hope in all that growing. I have to say, I’ve always been partial to dandelions. (K)

Kerfe, I’ve never seen such a lush blooming of every thing so quickly before. It’s like they are making up for lost time. I should look up a recipe for dandelion wine. I have the supplies to make wine here.

Congrats!!! I love the Apple tree…. I thought it was a whiteish cherry blossom…that is how much I know. You have it going on Lisa. The area where the redbud tree is…is beautiful.
