#TSM 210 — American Sentence

I’m frayed and twisted but still strong —
and ready for the next adventure.

This short and sweet poem is called an American Sentence, invented by Allen Ginsberg.

  3. I’ve been reading the Beatniks lately..starting out with Kerouac. Ginsberg gets me nuts. Your line really fits in so well with that photo

We take those times for granted, as if they will always be cached in our memories, but there will come a day when their touch will be lost and they will be dry words in old unopened books (or forgotten kindle files.) Thanks, Larry.

Your American Sentence is as strong as the subject it displays and the poet who wrote it! A wonderful write Lisa!

I’m totally with Pradeep. I don’t know that 70% of the things you talk about exist until I read about them here, lol. And the sentence rings so true. Who among us are not frayed and twisted? Not many. But even more so, less are ready to continue the adventure.

Well said, Stacey. The will to continue is always the question for me, be it a path, an idea, a choice, as there are so many others to choose from.
