First time EVER these two voluntarily sat side by side to my knowledge. How this happened is Dotty has tried starting to steal Mlady’s spot on the couch, where Mlady will sit to my right and be petted. Sometimes Mlady sprawls across the top back middle section of the couch, where I can reach up and pet her; she usually alternates between the two spots. This day, Dotty was there first and Mlady was up along the top back of couch. Mlady slickly dropped down into place. Dotty was of two minds. One is, “I know this spot is M’lady’s and I wondered how she would respond when I took it. I should move.” The other is, “I’m here, she’s here, and she’s letting me stay here. OK.” Mlady is of two minds also. One is, “If Dotty thinks she’s taking over my turf and I’m not doing anything about it, she is sadly mistaken.” The other is, “I’m here, she’s here, and it isn’t so bad. OK.”
The rest of the story (giving a nod to Paul Harvey): Dotty jumped down about 10 seconds after this photo was taken. Hey, it’s a start!

Tiger and Gatsby never cuddle, though they will nap on the same bed a couple feet apart…

That’s cool that at least they will be a couple of feet apart. I don’t foresee these 2 ever cuddling!

Nice cat story for Cat Day. I’m glad they decided to sit together, cats have a mind of their own.
Mine yesterday fit the Cat bill fine, I didn’t know it was International Cat Day. I’ll change it after I read your quadrille. Thank you for sharing.

Woot! My daughter moved out, taking her cat Omelette with her. Ometette and Moondust (Cat as she has been renamed) did NOT get along. However, I did catch them, on occasion, sharing my son’s bed… Maybe deep down, they did not completely loathe each other…

Sounds like Omelette moving on is something you are pleased about. I’ve had a few cats like that. I like the way you put it about O and M. They are at the not completely loathing phase of their relationship 😉

Well… her mistress leaving helped too 😉 Sometimes we need to let them out to appreciate them later…
They were putting on an act!
