parakeet in flight, photo by Arunachala
Colors glide in green and blue,
flashing red, orange, yellow hues
indigos, violets elemental dance
wings and fins navigate through.
Whether feathers in cloud-mist breeze
or wet fin wiggles in prism seas
each adjusts, motility’s must,
comporting themselves with ease;
flocking, schooling, living rainbows.

De Jackson (aka whimsygizmo) is today’s host of dVerse’ Quadrille Monday. De says:
Fling us a poem of just 44 words (not counting the title), including some form of the word wing.
What a wonderful firework of colors… you went deep on your wings

Thanks much, Bjorn. I love watching birds in flight, and I’ve recently started watching a youtube channel, “Ohio Fish Rescue,” that has so many amazing rainbow fish they’ve rescued along the way.

Lisa, your quadrille is as colourful as a parakeet or a fish! I love the sounds created by the rhymes, and especially the ‘wet fin wiggles in prism seas’.

Impeccable rhythm, like a syncopated school of fish. I can picture well from your words. I’m a huge fan of the rhythm you create in this one.
