Split Ninth Circuit Reinstates Suit against School District that Banned Beaded Graduation Cap — Turtle Talk
It’s good that it will have another chance to be heard, especially in light of the law being changed that will allow the wearing of honorary regalia; yet for this young lady, the moment where she would have been able to walk proudly, with her graduating class, is gone forever.
What could be done to make this right, in a manner of restorative justice? I’m not sure there is a way. A public apology in front of the student body at minimum. A special walking ceremony in front of the student body that includes any student that was denied because of honorary regalia? A billboard in town? Perhaps a work of art installed on the school grounds that has a message that all are welcome?
All your suggestions for restorative justice are pretty good. Fingers crossed that the right thing is done.🤞🤞
