Trent posted some sweet cat pics today, which inspired me to share my most recent pic of Mlady. She has started to do this crossing of her paws lately, and I think my exuberant reaction to it has encouraged her to keep doing it. She looks like she’s lost in thought. I wonder what she’s thinking? Just in case you were wondering, those spots in her ears are freckles.

Gorgeous kitty! So cute when they do their paws like that. I can just imagine how fluffy she feels. :)

She’s a cutie! :-)
One of our cats didn’t come back last night, and we started to get worried. Luckily, she returned earlier this evening. My wife thinks she might be sick. We’ll keep her indoors for now and keep an extra eye on her.

Thanks, Christian :) I’m surprised you let your cats outside. It’s a dangerous world out there for furbabies.

I guess it’s a double-edged sword. We took them in as feral kittens about nine years ago, and they love to be outdoors, so we don’t want to deprive them of that. On the other hand, it’s not without risks.

It is a blessing she chose to live here. Her and Dotty give me so much and ask so little (my unwavering devotion) in return.

So very cute. I only have In-law four-foots. The two I see most are as different as night and day. One being much older and more vocal. The younger sweaks when speaking and has a very soft purr…

“In-law four-foots” is such cool phrase, Jules. Lovely descriptions of them. Mlady and Dotty about the same age but they are very different in personality and looks.

One set of In-law four-foots are two males one older one younger. They only get along sometitmes. If they only knew just how good they had it!!

LOL sounds like Mlady and Dotty. I tell them that all of the time but they never listen ;)

I think ‘cats’ have a certain expectation…
Like they demand to be waited on ;)

Awesome! That is so cute.
I love when Martha does that sometimes while laying down.

She’s a real cutie. How’s Martha doing? Liking the cooler weather I bet.

She went out and ran like a mad person in the snow…she loves it and yea…when it’s cold she is very active. In the summer she stays in a sleeps.

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I miss a cat much much. Lived most of my life with one or more. But, my rule, much as I enjoy their company, is also my responsibility to care for them. Comes down now to, don’t have a cat likely to outlive me. Such is life. But thanks again. (ha! my poems will have to be my cat, tho they don’t care to sit in my lap and purr. Maybe I should try harder?)

As well as liking Jethro Tull, Carly Simon and CAT Stevens we also cat lovers. You have two lovely cats!
We have three – The Mighty Max, Minnie and Elsa.
Elsa was found tiny and freezing in a field at only a few weeks old by a farmer and was kept alive by our neighbour (who works for cat rescue) feeding her through the night every few hours. Even though we already had three cats at the time, we knew we had to take Elsa in (our neighbour already has a dog). Four years later she’s so strong and healthy!

Love your cat’s names, and I don’t see how you could have refused to take Elsa in either. Glad the neighbor’s TLC worked and she’s strong and healthy.

Today we lost our beloved Mighty Max. He lived to nearly eighteen. My wife and I comforted him as he left this world.
“he was a friend of mine” by The Byrds – a song that comes to mind.
We will miss him so!

Condolences to you and your wife. Mighty Max, I can see him there now, playing in the tall grass like a kitten again.

Thank you!! That is how we like to think of him, restored to full health in cat Elysium.
Funny thing is, we looked out on to his newly-occupied grave this morning and a robin was sitting on the fence in front of it. Folklore says the robin is the returning soul of the recently departed telling you he’s ok now. There really was a robin there.
I came on here because I remembered your post of lovely cat pics and I knew you would understand about my loss. It’s the vibe you give off!
Best wishes, Paul

Paul, you’re right, this was in my spam folder. I’m getting goosebumps about the robin at Mighty Max’ grave, I believe it was him and I think you and your wife do also. There is so much we don’t know even though humans think we know it all. I just looked up Elysium and it seems like the perfect place for a cat to roam and play <3 I appreciate your kind comment about my vibe as well.

There’s a lovely song called Elysium by one of my favourites artists, Mary Chapin Carpenter.
