#FF — The Great Builder

PHOTO PROMPT © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

I was raised with foundations of a truth that made me prone to earthquakes, floods, drought, and wildfires. The Great Builder assigned worker bees to this aimless wretch. Stone by stone, my foundation was overlaid with bioliths of resonant wonder, kindness, grace, patience, forgiveness, laughter, companionship, guilelessness – and reciprocation. I stopped equating truth with lies told by sly vermin. Out of dark atmospheric elements, a wretch became a believer in light.

My rubble now swept away, I rest in shelters of peace; sacred spaces in which to give thanks. Dreams have merged with a reality that continues to reach skyward.

Thank you, Shrawl. To be honest I didn’t even know if biolith was a real word, I just knew bio was life and lith was stone.

I couldn’t help but see the ruins as both real and a metaphor for the human condition. The two married. Well done, L.

What a beautiful metaphor for finding one’s way out of darkness into hope. Biolith sounds so much better than fossil stone or lime stone, LOL.

Speaking of surreal… Beautiful imagery throughout, but the first line wins for me. The reality that none of us no matter how sturdy is immune to the power of Mother Nature was very well said.
