Remember A2Z 2021 when I covered Jethro Tull songs? Last night I made a Spotify playlist of them. There are a few bonus songs at the end.

Oh, wow! I think we have almost all the albums of Jethro Tull.
Thanks for putting this together and sharing.

AWESOME, Punam! You must be a big fan of their music to have almost all of their albums. From one Tull lover to another, Cheers!

Cheers, Li! I must credit my husband for introducing me to Tull’s music.

Cool, I’m currently sampling the tracks – so much great music here!
I’m particularly thrilled to see Hymn 43, one of my all-time Tull favorites.
As a qualifier, I should add I’m by no means a Jethro Tull expert.

It’s 3+ hours of music that I’ve been listening to on and off all day. I have to thank you for that review of their latest album with the Shoshana song on it. It’s an earworm and I love that video!

Well you inspired a few days ago. I thought about your Jethro Tull posts…why or how I don’t know so I promptly wrote my first Jethro Tull post and it’s scheduled to go…it is a popular one though!

Anything Tull works for me and I am very happy to have in some way inspired you to post your first (of many, I hope!) of their songs. I know you might not post a bunch, but even one is good 🙂

No I will post more of them… after I did that I started to look over more artists I’ve never posted about… Rush is one band…but I won’t do many by them because it’s only a few I like. The John Prine today was only my second by him. I have a lot more to cover.

A great list…though none can be complete. I missed their rendition of Rahsaan Roland Kirk’s “Serenade to a Cuckoo”. I especially loved the first two albums. I got to see them free once, as part of my job working for Acid Rescue. Working concerts was the perk of the job.

Thanks much! There are a lot of songs I love of theirs that aren’t on the list. I wanted to include songs from all/most of their albums and there had to be one for each letter. Have you heard the Shoshana song of their latest album? DANG is it good. Will look for “Serenade…” Oh I envy you seeing them live. I bet they put on a fabulous show.

Great playlist. Nice site too, love the presentation of it, pictures, graphics etc.
You may find my Jethro Tull reviews interesting. I tried to post before using the link but it didn’t seem to accept the post:9

Hi Punk Panther, sure enough they were in my spambox. Will go to your site now and take a look at what you have to say about Jethro Tull 🙂

Just did a speed read through all of them. I’m glad you enjoy their music as much as I do. Thanks for putting all of that work into reviewing each one. This stuck out for me:
“Jethro Tull really were quite underrated, weren’t they? Never spoken about among the greats – why not?”
Have you heard their new album, “The Zealot Gene”? The song and video about Shoshannah are excellent!

Thanks for speed reading my witterings! I am, you might gather, not a “proper” Tull fan, or wasn’t in my youth, but I have grown to really appreciate them. I hope that comes across. I have reviewed from the point of view of someone coming late their work.
I didn’t know they were still going! Is Ian Anderson still there? Or has he been replaced with an Anderson-alike? I’ll check out the album.

My pleasure on the read. I’m not as familiar with them all as I should be. Aqualung, Thick as a Brick, and Songs from the Wood are 3 I have listened to most. Benefit and Stand Up are 2 of my favorite ones. You said all good stuff about them, with the only negative the comment about the album cover (the one with rock and roll in the title.) Christian from Christian’s Music Musings did a good review on the album, which I have yet to buy but have listened to the Shoshannah song many times (it’s mesmerizing to me, and to listen while watching the video is doubly so.) Link to Christian’s review below:

Hi again, I have read Christian’s excellent review and listened to the album twice through and reviewed it myself.
I have also made my reviews a bit easier to read, separating the tracks a bit. To speed read, just read the first and last paragraphs for each album!
By the way, I think the artwork/and presentation you use on your blog is incredibly good, really beautiful in places

Ah, now how double cool is that. I will have to check out your review. Thank you on my blog artwork/presentation. I appreciate the kind words.

p.s. How do I find your review? Just looked at your blog and tried searching for it but no luck.

Just search under Jethro Tull in the search box. I added it to my existing Tull reviews so it doesn’t come up as a new post.

Oh ok, I see you added it to end of your post with the other album reviews. Also small typo, it is the Zealot Gene not Game.

Yes, I realised that today. Amended now. Thanks!
