yesterday she got into the atrium and was flying around for hours, finally landing on the back slider screen. I asked a friend was this a queen bee and she said yes a queen bumblebee and I should get her outside. It was night by then so I waited until morning.

This morning I maneuvered her into the plastic container after I had put a teaspoon of “butterfly nectar” that I mixed up from a packet older son gave me as part of Mother’s Day gift. Carried her out back to the old horse hay trough. Picked a dandelion and put it in with her. A couple of hours later, looked and she was gone. I hope she does well.

went on my first bike ride of the year this week. While airing up the tires I noticed the info about where my bike was made. Before the water bottle carrier hid it, but I had to take the carrier off to more easily fit the bike onto the bike carrier.

had lunch with a friend on Wednesday on the roof of a restaurant. just a small bit of town. the ship on the left is the LST393. What I call the “white noodle” is “Arch” by Steven Urry. It’s been moved all around town but is now on Western Avenue. The Depot is an old train station turned visitors center. It has nice meeting rooms upstairs. The amazon building (no, not that amazon) building is a low-income apartment building that used to be a factory of some kind. I love this restaurant for the rooftop view but would NOT recommend it for food.

Glad you tried to help the bee, and hope she found a hive. Yes, that is a hazy sun photo. Cool to see. 🙂

I hope so too, Barbara. I wonder how the dandelion got out of the container, it’s not a strong wind today.

I hope so too, Carol Anne. Yes, we had a nice talk and I realized only later I got a sunburn.

  6. Nice pics, Lisa. That queen bumble bee looked impressive and a bit a bit scary. Also, congrats on your first bike ride. I’ve been looking at mine a few times, and the weather definitely would have allowed a ride. Instead, I’ve been doing a lot of walking, oftentimes twice a day – before and after work. It’s also a fun way to listen to music, something one probably shouldn’t do when biking. But eventually, I also want to resume doing some bike riding!

Christian, after all the effort you put into the bike to get it ready last year, I would hope you’d get out on it. I agree that listening to music while riding a bike probably isn’t a good idea if you’re around cars or other riders/walkers. Good for you on the daily walks! Very healthy and low impact. I’ve been so busy in the yard with this and that, bike riding has had to wait. I think I’ll be able to take a ride tomorrow though.

      1. You’re absolutely right, Lisa, it wouldn’t make much sense to have your bike tuned up and then not to use it. I got some other stuff to do today but might take her out at least for a short spin! Thanks for your words of encouragement! 🙂

Good, I hope you do! I’m planning on going for a ride in a bit. It stays light so much longer now, plenty of time to get things done.

      2. I did it – took her for a short spin this morning and created a short clip.

The phone was in my shirt pocket. I also put in my house keys, so the phone would stick out of the pocket. I was concerned it would fall out, so rode the bike fairly slowly in the lowest gear! And, yep, I could have shaved before doing all of that! 🙂

Just watched your clip. YAY on breaking the barrier for riding this season. I can see why you wouldn’t want your phone falling out of your pocket.

          1. I was so nervous it was ridiculous!😆 But I wanted to provide some documentation. Thanks again for your encouragement!😀

Sometimes, I tend to find excuses too quickly not to do certain things. Notably, this pretty much never happens when it comes to music!😀

Christian I appreciate the “documentation” but you know I would believe you if you said you did it. You are welcome on the encouragement. I also appreciate your ongoing encouragement 🙂

I never heard of butterfly nectar…that sounds cool. What a view from that restaurant

First time having it. Supposedly you set it out in dishes and the butterflies drink it. There are so many flowering things around here they probably aren’t going to be interested in it. Maybe hummingbirds will stop? Will see 🙂

It’s beautiful and with that ship…just awesome.
Our little town is getting rocked right now. We hardly ever have crime here…a 25 year old woman vanished on May 10 and they found the body in the dam yesterday. That stuff never happens here. Her name is Chase Stafford….I think it’s hit the national news now.

That’s horrible. I just went out and saw info on her disappearance, the search, and how she was found 😦

I don’t like to say I hope it was suicide, but the idea that a killer is still loose makes me queasy. Gone way too soon 😦 Also, when a police department has little experience investigating those kinds of crimes, it puts a heavy burden on them. When those women were killed here a few years back, they ended up forming a task force from all nearby departments and I think that’s how they caught him.

I’ve read where she had her swimming top on…she could have just drowned but unlikely. Why would she leave her backpack sitting on the road?
Yes they will have to do something to find out about it. I’ve heard from a few people who knew her that she was going with a no good person…but I know that could be true…who knows?
