Last night’s full moon was very different than the moon the night before. It was taken around the same time of night/morning. The mosquitos were swarming me so I couldn’t stay out to take more than 2 pics.

That is SO COOL! I couldn’t see mine, dammit. Maybe tonight I’ll be luckier.

Thanks, Dale :) Such a stark difference between the two nights in how it looked. I wonder what tonight’s moon will bring? Hope you can get some good shots of her tonight <3

I just went out there (bloody hell it’s cold!) and took some. I’ll check out the results tomorrow. It’s 1:11 a.m.! Lordy.

I looked last night but it was hidden by cloud cover of one kind or another. Clouds passed on today and it’s clear skies and 80 at ~1:30pm.

I actually did capture it last night. Not too shabby, I might add ;-)

Sorry to hear you have mosquitos. We sat out on our new (because the old one was rotting) front porch to look at the moonrise last night.

Congrats on both your new front porch and your leisurely viewing of Lady Luna. For me it is either dashing out and snapping a few or dousing myself with bug spray and taking my time. Did she look like that where you were?

It looks like you are now getting much more smoke than we are. The moon looked pretty normal here – a day short of full and normal color. A couple of weeks ago the sun looked a lot like your moon photos. Pale orange – I could look directly at it in midday.

Smoke???

Much of Canada is on fire. When the fires were mostly in Alberta and Saskatchewan, the sky here was pretty smoky. We still have daily air quality alerts but the smoke is no longer visible. There are now fires in Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia; in fact nearly every province. We are so US-centric in our news, that even when a country full of relatively rich white people right next to us has major news, it isn’t news here. (That was actually one of the more interesting parts about living in another country – I had much better access to world news in Mexico than I had in the US.)

Good — or should I say bad? — to know. So disturbing! Things are so dry here right now that it wouldn’t take much to set them afire.

Thanks, K. Not bad for the cell phone camera. I need to pull my digital camera out, but I got tired of buying batteries for it. Would love a digital camera with a rechargeable battery.

I have one with a rechargeable battery, but it’s so complicated, I often just stick with the phone. The camera does take better photos though. But I’ve been unable to find one that’s user friendly.

It looks beautiful and a little spooky also…. I’ll should be able to stay caught up now I hope. Sunday I pretty much napped all day lol…it takes a while getting over a vacation.

I agree about the spookiness. OK on staying caught up, but you know it isn’t necessary. Take it easy, my friend.
