You have reached a quiet bamboo grove, where you will find an eclectic mix of nature, music, writing, and other creative arts. Tao-Talk is curated by a philosophical daoist who has thrown the net away.
Arnica started from seed that I collected up in Shelby in the fall and started indoors. This is a very healthy plant that loves where it is at.
black beauty zucchini seedlings growing on driveway dirt hill. you can see some scorched earth where I did the burn off a few weeks ago.
blue false indigo directly seeded. got a nice packet of a couple dozen seeds from the library seed bank. these are the ones i planted in the ground. i planted some in a big pot also. it’s a perennial I’ve never grown before but it looks pretty in google pics.
Transplanted the chamomile from its rootbound pot into the ground a few days ago. So hot and dry out there it hasn’t fully recovered since the transplant.
Chives in a hen planter someone bought me many moons ago. Also the stone frog that the squirrels and chipmunks like to rest on.
all 4 still living dawn redwood. They are still barely hanging on. Please live!
Grand Rapids variety lettuce grown from seeds given to me by the library seed bank. Also notice several sunflower volunteers that must have been planted by the chipmunks.
The 5 pepper plants grown indoors from seed, courtesy of seed bank. Not doing awesome but still look healthy.
two groundcover that are in a mostly shady area. Doing so much better than most of the others out in full sun.
first Japanese iris of this year
Mega Mullein on driveway dirt hill
another shot of the green peppers with tomatoes and wetland plants.
The volunteer with bright orange blossoms that butterflies loves and it is about to bloom.
I decided against filling with dirt this season and will keep the pots in there. Lots of different things growing. To the left are those blue false indigo seedlings.
Prickly Pear Gone Wild. A Herd of Mickeys!
See the diff between these 3 sets of tomato plants? All planted at the same time. The container makes the difference. Never again will I plant this many. What was I thinking!?
LUSH LOVELY Mortgage Lifter Heirloom tomatoes. Highly recommend this variety.
Not sure the name of these but they look like wild geranium. They come back every year and they are gorgeous.
And that geranium is scented right. It’s known here to ward off ‘quitos. We love them !! But these don’t like me. You are so good. Lovely photos. Xoxo blessings.
I don’t know about the geranium, never tried to smell these, but now you know I will :) Didn’t know about the mosquito repellent either. Thank you, Selma.
All looks very nice, Lisa. Hope the smoke situation in your area is better today. It was better here in the morning but rapidly deteriorated in the afternoon. The sky literally looked yellowish – like you picture some post-apocalyptic scenery!
Oh my gosh, Christian, that’s not good news. How close is the fire to where you live? Things look pretty clear for smoke here and the weather has cooled right off.
Love that green

My pleasure, Barbara. So far have been watering things, but that costs $$. We need rain bad.

You’ve done well Li. Both the plants you planted and the one nature contributed are doing well. I hope your redwoods survive and thrive
