As we coasted into the parking area of the ice cream shoppe, I couldn’t help but notice the pint-sized Chevy ATV next door to it.
“I’ll be in in a sec,” I told my friend as she locked up our bikes.
While snapping photos, Ken — yes, Barbie’s Ken – walked out of the garage and approached the vehicle.
“Yes, it’s me, and no, you can’t take my picture,” he said and smiled.
The two-foot tall man climbed into the shiny ride, started her up, and drove away.
“You’re not going to believe what I just saw,” I told my friend.
[100 words]
Yes, I was on a bike ride, and yes, this is a photo of what I saw next door to the ice cream shoppe. Did I really see Ken? Would you believe me if I said I had?

BONUS: Just in case you didn’t know, there is a new live action Barbie movie coming out real soon. Here’s a clip from it. Interested in your thoughts about the new movie!

Sure, I’d believe you

I saw Barbie naked once. Well, more than once, really.

I don’t know, I think that mini truck would be too big for Ken. But then, maybe Ken is bigger in real life… So, I won’t commit to believing you or not on this one.

You bring up a good point. Nobody has ever seen the real Ken (and knew who he was) before. I think of him as Barbie Doll- sized and was surprised he was much taller ;)

Ron said he saw Barbie naked.
Try seeing Ken naked as a kid.
Is it any wonder we were all in therapy?
Haha!!

That Barbie movie looks great I must say. I was skeptical at the idea, but the trailers are a lot of fun. (K)

I feel about the same way with the looks of the Barbie movie. My son really likes Ryan Gosling and he’s been getting ribbed at work about him playing Ken :)

Regardless of Ken, the sight of this mini Chevi ATV in and of itself is remarkable. It looks a bit like one of these fancy electric vehicles they make for small kids. The closest I ever had to something like this was a Kettcar, but I had to pedal it to move forward without any help by an electric engine!

It really got my attention, I know that much. Cool on the Kettcar. Remember those Big Wheel things? Made of plastic and one front wheel and two back wheels? My kids had those. We had motorized go-carts and mini-bikes as kids and we lived in the city. Rode them in the back alley and parking lot behind our house.

That’s so Ken. I recognise the attitude. 😀
Now, where’s Barbie? The barbeque?
Fun stuff.

Dear Lisa,
Of course I believe you. ;) ;) I love the photo and your story. Not sure about the movie.
I had one of the early Barbies. Back when you could buy extra outfits rather than buying a new doll for each one. Of course if her measurements were translated into a living being she would have to have been a French poodle. At any rate, good story and thank you for the prompt. :D

Rochelle,
I had a bad habit of cutting my Barbies hair, probably because my mom kept my hair short. They were like mini-mes :) Yes, they tried to brainwash girls to feel inadequate with her unattainable dimensions right from the beginning. Glad you liked the story, thank you.

Lisa

I never played with Barbies, though my neighbour annoyingly always wanted to. Of course, he exists! Fun take…
As for the movie, not so much. Here’s a kicker for you: Ryan Gosling was considered TOO OLD for the movie! ‘Bout time the tables be reversed! Course, once it’s on regular TV and I don’t have to pay for it, I won’t lie – I probably will check it out

Well, Ryan Gosling *is* kinda too old to play Ken imo, but I think he fits the role well. I will wait for release to streaming/DVD also. I mentioned to someone else it definitely has a female version of the “Free Guy” movie with Ryan Reynolds, and I liked that more than I thought I would.

Maybe so but I agree, he fits.
I’ll have to check it out.

In my search for sound effects for my video, I came across a video of Verne Troyer trying out his new Power Wheels Tesla, so I will believe your 2-foot-tall Ken story.
Thanks for the pic. It inspires a lot of fun stories this week.

Well, his name isn’t Ken, and it wasn’t a Tesla, but close enough. Fun video to watch. Who knew Musk products were in the toy market.
