I went to a garden shop the other day and found a sweet batch of lawn ornaments.

Five baby dragons
curl and roll in warm sunshine
waiting for mommy

granite effigies
call feathered friends in to bathe
spring water and green

purred in contentment
moon settles in her being
lost in last summer

lands in front of me
all full of wiggles and curls
summer’s green goddess

deep in spring woods where
humans scarce tread, at midnight
OM ‘neath silver moon

her ghostly form kneels
prays for forgiveness for crimes
she didn’t commit

portly prince lurks, waits
for a princess to-be. She
nods, says, “no, thank you.”

I love the stone ornaments! Did you buy any for yourself? We used to have gargoyles in our garden but that was up north years ago. I love those little dragons!

I do also. Not yet! I’d like to have those little dragons all over the yard. I actually went there to look at bird baths and they have plenty of those also.

I want one of those giant dragon ones that is in pieces so it looks like the dragon is going in and out of the lawn.

Really neat! Love the ghost angel, and had to laugh at the fat frog. :)

:) So glad you enjoyed them, Barbara. The fat frog was right towards the end of the walkthrough and it felt like he was lurking.

That last one made me laugh! Of course I love the birdbath. (K)

Wow, some interesting ornaments there, Lisa! I think the frog may be my favorite. The baby dragons are lovely as well! :-)

They have a wonderful selection there and glad to share the pics of them. My kids and I play a game online every week where the worst thing that can happen to you is “getting toaded.” The first thing I thought of when I saw the portly prince was the toad king from the game.

So very cute. I’m thinking of sticking my fork and spoon in my garden as orniments!
That frog is fantastic.

Jules, I actually went back and bought one of the featured items today :) Will post more about it later when I get it out of the trunk.

I really like the ‘moon frog’ but I really don’t need any more decorations :)
Look forward to seeing what you chose. :D

When I went back on Monday only one was left :( I will be posting on the one I bought when I went back. I would love to have all of those dragons hiding around the property :)

These are fabulous! Photos and poems.
Dang, how to resist them all? I remember going to one of these in London, Ontario and wanting to buy a bunch, but I settled on two little cherubs for Austin, my son. One for his grave (which has since disappeared – though we thought we cemented that puppy in safely) and the other that I have to refind a new spot for at this house.

Dale, I didn’t know Austin, one of your sons, passed away. My sincere condolences. And to have someone steal one of the cherubs to honor his grave is just a downright vile act.

He died in 1997 (was 7 months 23 days old). I think it was the lawn mowers that destroyed it, to be honest. (It’s better if I think that was it. Plus, it’s probably true.)

Austin now has wings
baby crawls in heaven’s grass
remembering life.
Austin and Daddy
reunited in heaven
both smile down at you.
Tears speak language
rain that spells worlds of loss
mother’s kneeled grief.

In my garden I have several statues – two semi naked ladies called Diana and Aphrodite, a duck and a bear called Duckworth and Lewis (only cricket fans would know those names!), a partridge called Alan and two Buddhas called, would you believe, Buddha.

What a magnificent menagerie your garden is. I bet they throw wild parties in the middle of the night.

Yes, they do, but the Buddhas tend to keep things calm.
