pic 2 part of flower bed along driveway. taller back greenery are freshly pruned dwarf lilac and euonymous with an evergreen sanctuary for all kinds of critters
pic 3 angel an old friend gave me many moons ago looking at the lovely arnica just about to blossom. chamomile in front of the angel
pic 7 DUMB ACCIDENT ALERT. The nice man at the garden shop loaded her into the trunk. I carted the birdbath out first but was tired when I pulled the angel from the trunk and loaded her into the wheelbarrow. even more tired when I got to the patio. Like a dumbass I didn’t rest up and tried to take her out and put her down. She fell and look what happened. BUMMA! I did look at youtube video about how to repair, but oh live and learn to pace yourself, Lisa!
pic 10 driveway dirt hill look close to see tomatoes, zucchini, and sunflowers. Good luck to them in this heat. I try to water some but they need a good dousing.

Thanks, Paula, why didn’t I pace myself. Who knew how fragile this statue would be, but it’s made of cement and my son said cement is weak :(

Happens to the best of us. I’ve always wanted to repair things with gold fill as the Japanese do to repair broken pottery and such. That would be super cool. Maybe not for the garden statue but maybe? It adds character.😁
I love all the flowers. I had peppers and tomatoes but some black fungus grew on them and they stopped growing. I had to get rid of them all.😞

Melissa that’s a great idea on the gold! Maybe paint some gold on the crack after repair :) Will keep everyone posted on what happens. Thanks on the flowers. They’d be doing better with more rain. So sorry about the fungus on your peppers and tomatoes. :(

Your yard with all the green and the blossoms looks like an oasis! :-)

Christian, funny you should use the word oasis because Michigan is in the middle of a desert-like drought. Thank you very much. I keep watering things enough to keep them alive but the grass is fading pretty quickly right now :(

Keeping fingers crossed for some rain and that watering can keep your grass alive in the meantime!

:) Thanks much, Christian. We need it, bad! How’s your weather treating you?

Since the smoke from the Canadian wildfires cleared out, the weather has been pretty good, though the other day you could smell a bit of smoke again. But it’s gone again. At least there’s no more smell!

Good to hear it. Been out on your bike?? I went on an 11+ mile ride with the bike path riders group tonight, starting at 6pm. 91F when we started but into 80s by the time we got back. The breeze is what saved us.

Wow, nice. I’ve done a few smaller rides but not lately. I hope to resume soon!😀

I know. I’ve been busy getting our old pool to run after it had been closed for 5 years. There’s a reason why pool and pain start with the same letter!😆

LOL. Great that you’ll be able to refresh those aching muscles in the pool soon.

We currently don’t have a pool heater, so it’ll be quite refreshing as well!🤣

YOU WONT NEED ONE! You’ve got a solar heater.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ha, that’s true. Not so much right now, but once we hit July and August, the water should warm up nicely.
We used to have dedicated solar cells for the pool on our roof, but when we needed to replace our roof a couple of years ago, we didn’t replace those solar cells, since they were very old.
Anyway, perhaps that’s more than what you wanted to know!😆

have you ever swam in the great lakes? If you grow up doing it, ice cold water doesn’t faze you.

Excellent way of looking at the angel. Melissa also suggested putting some gold on the crack if I can repair it. Thanks so much on the garden. It’s a (slow) labor of love. When I moved here in 2011 there was nothing but the evergreens, a few other shrubs, the rose bush, and the big trees.

We are supposed to have a week of much needed rain. Not good for outdoor activities, but the plants need it. Hope you get some too.

Beautiful pictures. And a lovely garden!
And that angel was way too fragile. Who knows how long it would have lasted in the elements? Can you fix it?
Just wanted to let you know that your longer captions under the photos get cut off :)
LikeLiked by 1 person
Dale, thank you. I was shocked the wing fell off but then it was heavy and I dropped it. I think it can be fixed, we’ll see.
About the captions, I saw that also, and am ticked about it. It’s so easy to load all pics at once but I see there is the caption issue. Will try to fix it when I have a minute. Thanks for the heads-up, I got wordy on some of them :)

What a bummer. I hope you can. Or, like one of your readers said, you display her proudly, imperfect and all.
I just wanted to let you know because we don’t always check these things. (And hey, aren’t you glad some of us take the time to read them?) ;-)

As they say, s..t happens! Case in point: My inground pool essentially died on me this morning, and I’ll need a new pump and a new filter for it to run again.
I knew this day inevitably would come, since both parts look like they’re from the stone age (they came with the house when we bought it some 11 years ago). But naively I was hoping it would last for another season. Well, it didn’t. But what are you gonna do, s..t happens!
I hope you’re taking it easy and your bruises from your recent bike incident are healing well! :-)

Christian, your pump and filter dying involved nothing dumb on your part, they just wore out. Me, on the other hand, way overloaded the front basket which made it unstable and dangerous. I’m sorry your equipment needs to be replaced, but imagine how cool and refreshed you will feel real soon :) Thanks for the well-wishing, I’m definitely taking it easy.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Thanks, Lisa, glad you’re taking it easy. I also appreciate your evident trust in my pool skills.😆
The breakdown of the pump is definitely not my fault. The clogged filter, however, may be a different story.
Without boring you with the gory details, filters can clog when you vacuum your pool and don’t pay attention as dirt builds up in your filter. While I thought I was careful, I may have not paid close enough attention.
Anyway, a consolation is the filter was old and very likely on its last leg, so it was only a matter of time before it would break down.
Luckily, I was able to connect with my pool store, and can replace both parts tomorrow. That’s really great since you can “lose” your water when it’s not circulating, especially during hot weather conditions like we currently have them!

How nice for you and your family. Thanks for being patient with your explanation about the pool. It’s difficult to believe you were negligent but I’ll take your word for it :)
LikeLiked by 1 person
Well, I suspect was at least somewhat inattentive. Had I more closely watched the filter pressure, which tends to rise as dirt accumulates, perhaps I could have prevented the clog. But I there’s no point in beating myself up over it. It is what it is. I’m hoping they can fix everything tomorrow!

So, I mentioned to another blogger that his captions were too long and he said to click on the i in the circle… for him it works. For you, instead of giving us the rest of the caption, it gives us the “resized (name of file)”. I should ask Dan what he does differently from you.
That said… Still lovely garden images!!

When I loaded each pic before adding captions that showed up wasn’t a problem but more time to load each image. When I add them all at once it makes it a big problem with the captions. Can you ask Dan if he loads all his pics at once or one at a time? Thanks, Dale, on the pics!

Hey Lisa,
This is what Dan said: I am using the Classic Block. Galleries all work differently, so it’s possible the gallery option she’s using (if she’s using the Block Editor) just doesn’t work that way.

OK, thank you, Dale, that helps. I haven’t used any gallery option, but I think now that I shall next time. I know exactly what he’s talking about. Will you please thank Dan for me also? :)
