Kerfe’s RWG 15 — Graveside

You summon me with yoke of guilt;
a filthy debt, your profit unsated.
My fangs bared, ugly spoils
to your curled finger.
You find comfort in my squirm
as you scrub salt into wounds
still smashed, festering,
oozing pools of woe.
As of your death,
there will be no
paid in full.

I don’t know if you watch Doctor Who…but that reminds me of the “Weeping Angels”…the only time I felt scared watching Doctor Who….the pic and poem. Those words are viscious…which they should be.

The only Dr. Who I’ve seen are the Tom Baker ones. I’d love to see them all though. Now it makes me want to see that episode.

The Weeping Angels were statues like the one in your picture that would come alive unless you were looking in their eyes…when you did they turned to stone again.
Remember if you break contact they can get you….the cool thing is they wouldn’t kill you…just send you back in time…for 80 years some times….so…you are dead in modern times but you live in the past….Don’t watch this tonight.

Thank you, Max! I just watched the first 10 seconds, and no, not just before sleeping, you’re right!

  5. I guess some people are such vicious bastards that you don’t exactly mourn when they are no longer around!

What’s difficult is to grieve even if they were vicious bastards :( Feelings don’t make sense sometimes. Thank you for your comment, Christian, there are plenty I do not mourn.

      1. 100 percent agree, feelings aren’t always rational.

  6. That is so strongly worded! Random words can take us to places we would rather not acknowledge or visit. A compelling write, Li.
I’ll see where the list takes me. 🙂

Exactly so with certain words and certain combinations of words. There are burrs in places that need to be smoothed out and daring to speak them helps. Thank you for reading and your comment, Punam. Looking forward to seeing where they take you.

And, yeah, Max’s comment about Weeping Angels. That WAS one of the scariest episodes ever. You’ve got to see it!
