Even though it’s been way too scorching hot out there to ride my bike, I did go to the bike shop and buy a new bike helmet (thanks again, half-fast!) While there, I picked up the latest trail guide. Even though it has a price on it, this bike shop gives a copy free (with their label slapped on it.) This helmet is smaller and the straps adjust in a way that keeps it securely where it needs to be.

Does it say “Bontrager” and “Solstice” the back?

it’s that brand for sure, but it’s in the other room now. will check if it has solstice on it :) if so we are twins!

I’ve struggled with the ill-fitting one since I got it, thinking it was the straps, but it was just the wrong size. Can’t wait to try it out on a ride.

I need a helmet…I’ve never owned one even when I was riding regularly.

It is worth it. Even one fall can be disastrous without one. The other day when I was headed to lunch with my brothers, I saw a guy on a motorcycle laying in the road. He and a van or an SUV got into an accident. Thank goodness he had a helmet on. He was screaming in pain but he was alive and able to scream :(

Oh I know…when we first started I think about it because when I was a kid…I never had one. We got Bailey one…but this time we are getting them.

Well I ordered new tires for the bikes (I’m ordering intertubes next) and then it got stopped cold. Jen got laid off last Tuesday…so she is looking now. We are on a spending hold until she gets something. Her check is more of our “do things” money…we are fine but we want to be careful. She will get something pretty quick I think. I have the bikes in my music room working on them.
