first food 2023

I’m eating a stir fry made from the above veggies I fresh picked from the plants today (except for the blackberries, which I called dessert and ate first.)  The peppers were grown from the 5 seeds I got from the library.  Nothing tastes better than food you’ve grown from a seed.  Nature is generous and gives freely of herself.

one pepper’s seeds
will fill a field with plants
full belly; happy heart

  2. There is nothing like eating food you grew yourself. I made my second batch of pesto last night. I need some more pine nuts for the next batch.

  4. Great minds, I sautéed mushrooms, yellow zucchini, and green onions in some sesame oil for lunch.

Yummy! I sauteed them until tender than added tofu and some leftover sauerkraut. It tasted pretty good.

Yummy! I would have eaten the blackberries first, too.

I had some small red potatoes from a piece I cut off and waited for it to root!! I’ve also had some bok choy from from and end cut that also rooted. I might have some celery soon too!

Some of my tomatoes don’t look so good, so I picked up some more from a flower stand for a buck a piece. They seem to be doing OK. Also the pepper plants that someone else started that hubby got from a work buddy are flowering.

So good to have stuff from your own garden :D

Happy to hear how your garden grows, Jules. Many tasty things! I use bok choy for hot and sour soup.

I pretty much chop and smush my food like I do prompts.
Close, but perhaps never the same exact thing twice :D
