Tanka Tuesday 330 — here there when

here
is where
river meets
pond and pasture,
forever resting
there in my memory;
a peaceable kingdom where
I journey back to childhood summers
when we fished from the dinghy
using lines without worms;
when swans swam closer.
we trailed the cows
home at dusk
and slept
well.

Adjusted Nonet form.

      Colleen, thank you very much. There is a little town not so far from here called Lamont, along the Grand River, that has a view of the river that reminds me of this scene (minus the mansion in the background) and I imagined if I had been blessed enough to grow up in such a place.

      I know what you mean about jumping into the picture. There is place near here that looks so much like it (without the mansion in the background.) It’s on the river flats.

            Bailey and I are doing well! Who knows how long she could be there now…we both miss her though. Don’t know if I told you but they were going to operate Monday but she was sick with a virus so they had to put it off.
