Having my raised beds and other containers (these are being grown in a half-barrel) partially shaded and near my hose, along with the grrrreat new potting mix (Pro-Mix) that I mixed 50/50 with garden dirt, has made a big diff.

Lovely. If I manage to organise my basement this fall and winter, I think I’d like to start my plants from seed. Did it years ago and there is a certain satisfaction to it. Mind you, my garden is struggling. Part of it is great and others, not so much. Sigh.
