Yes, they are. Our lake and marshlands are full of swans now, which I think means lots more water plants for them to eat which means more phosphates in the water :( We also have a bunch of Great blue herons around also. I think the zebra mussels (an invasive species) have brought them in. Nature finds a way to control our mistakes much of the time.

Nature is awe inspiring…it somehow heals itself.
Invasive species… yea check with the Everglades…man they are having some trouble with the boa’s down there.

Oh really!? What do the boas eat? I know that nutria, aka “rodents of unusual size” (I helped fund a movie by that name!) have overrun a lot of coastal areas in the south, and I’m guessing that’s what they eat?? Isn’t snake edible? I say they should harvest them and eat them.

EVERYTHING. Aligators, deer, and all of the natural species they have down there. Some research lab down there got hit by a hurricane in the 90s and boas were everywhere. Some are over 20 feet long.
Chandler catches them to feed to his King Cobras. They pay people to go and catch them.
The Boa’s natural place I believe in Africa are low on them…but they cannot catch them and send them back because of the different bacteria here and it may harm Africa’s wild life…it’s a mess.

Oh no! Some idiots getting an exotic pet and then turning it loose in the wild to flourish :( With the nutria, people brought them in to raise captive for their fur — until some genius thought, let’s let them loose so we can harvest more from wild ones. DUMBASSES!

Yes they were…and still are. Someone brought up the idea of….ok sit down for this one…releasing King Cobras…because they eat the boas…Yes that is what we need…King Cobras slithering about in the Everglades. Thankfully it hasn’t happened that we know of.

He just goes to the Everglades and looks…he will grab one…of course they are not venomous….but don’t let them get wrapped around you.

Chandler needs to build an army to get those things under control. I just googled whether or not the snakes are edible and one article says the mercury in their bodies is off the charts. This tells me that there is mercury in all of the animals. Remember The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland? Mercury used to drive hatters mad. Imagining these snakes driven mad by mercury. It’s like a nightmare scenario and humans are to blame yet again.

Right now people want their skin to make boots and other things.
They will pay people to go to the Everglades and get them….they will give you so much for each one. Plus the country or state has special groups who get them.

Oh that looks interesting! I’ve never in my life saw a rat in the wild…field mice yes…but never a rat.
That looks like it would be a fun watch…but not fun to those hunters.

These are GIANT “rats” and they burrow into coastal waters and remove plant barriers that keep the coast from eroding. It’s a huge and growing problem. This movie is set in Louisiana, but as they expand their range, who knows how far they will go.

Yes they will migrate…every animal does usually. Armadillos…I knew that Texas had them when I was a kid…but in the 80s they migrated to Tennessee…we have them here everywhere now.
So yes….the rats will move on
