Depending on who is measuring and how (e.g. median vs mean) corporate CEOs in the US are paid 400-600 times (670 times for the largest 300 corporations, per a study by The Guardian) what their workers are paid. This does NOT measure CEO pay compared to the lowest worker pay, but (usually) to the median – meaning half of workers are paid less than that. For comparison, in the Mondragón worker co-ops in Spain, the CEO’s pay is limited to 6 times the lowest paid worker.

This serving of the corporations and its masters may be the single most important barrier to the continuance of the human species on our planet. Included in corporations are their stockholders, who insist on getting their profits as well. I love Spain’s model.
