POPO2023 Day 20

20 Resha Sabre S Sun PM on the Island of La Grande Jatte 1884 85Georges Seurat, “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte”

Dogs teach us how to love
They pull us into playing – one more time
They unconditionally accept and forgive us
They are grace made manifest
They are loyal to us and always happy to see us
All they want from us is our time and attention

They are wonderful beings indeed. Beings that don’t seem to be getting much of what they want in the lovely painting. Poor things! πŸ€“πŸ˜

Thaty they are. Zeke kept me sane through some rough patches. I miss the old guy.

  7. Well said, Lisa. We’ve had three dog ladies (two Yorkies, one Silkie). They definitely loved us unconditionally, and we were very close to them as well. It was tough when they passed. I think my wife is still traumatized and doesn’t want to have another dog, at least for now.

I know what a Yorkie is but not a Silkie. It is very traumatic to lose a furbaby. I understand why your wife isn’t wanting to get another dog at least for now. I feel the same way about my Chauncey. I lost him in 2016 and still am not over it.

      1. A Silkie is similar to a Yorkie. Both are terriers. Silkies are a little bigger than Yorkies but still pretty tiny. My wife likes small dogs!

Sounds cute as can be and easy to pick up, sit on your lap, etc.

    We’ve been watching a few Dog movies…
the last one was “Dog, Gone” –
Reminds me of the family dog we had… and did not replace.

There is a play called “Sunday in the Park with George” based on this panting. I vaguely remember a song from it… though I don’t remember much else.

Jules, the mindset of immediately replace, be it a dog, a significant other, etc. is the polar opposite of my mindset. There is no replacing those “beings” that are not things.

About the song, maybe you can find it on youtube and it will lead you to the play?

I just vaugely remember the tune of ‘Sunday in the Park with George…. I did look it up. I like the painting… maybe because of the play?

Even some things… need to go. I have too much stuff, but I’ve been trying not to take in more and let go of that which no longer serves…
