Pic taken this morning. Isn’t she beautiful. There are other buds that hopefully will open. The longer light and some sunny days will help.
Also want to share a pic taken the night of Feb 12 of the crescent moon. Not a real clear shot but still cool.

And because I will never be able to use all of the new songs I’m finding on SRR, here’s one I really love by a group called Three Man Army. I’ve noticed there are often older bands being featured with new music but am not sure if this is new music or old music being re-released? What really freaked me out is that Three Man Army is made up of Ginger Baker (Cream drummer) and two brothers, Adrian and Paul Gurvitz, formerly of Gun. Since Ginger has passed, it’s got to be old music being re-leased? Anybody with more info on them, please let me know.

Beautiful violet! :)

Thanks for the moon! And the colors–green and violet, wonderful. And another musical mystery. You think the internet knows everything, but it’s got a lot of gaps. (K)

Thank you for sharing the African Violet, Lisa! The violet color is so intense. I love it. I took a photo of the crescent moon also.

My pleasure, Miriam. My phone camera does ok with day pictures but not so good with night ones. Can you post your pic please??

Mine are not good, Lisa because I took them through the Winshield while driving.

Thanks, Sadje. I’ve considered buying a tripod to use with the phone, to hold it still, but I’m not even sure they make phone tripods.

If you’re hearing music from Three Man Army, it’s definitely coming from the great beyond! We were into them back in the early 70s, basically bc of Ginger Baker. Fun listen and great photos. I’m into indoor gardening big time and am called “The Plant Rescuer” in my town lol. My violets are not in this shot but they’re doing very nicely, a darker, deeper purple than yours. One is at least 30 yrs old.

Nancy, your place looks like Nirvana! It’s really good to know that they can live that long. I really don’t know much about African violets. This one was a gift.

Thanks, Lisa! This is our sunroom which is off the kitchen and dining room and runs the entire length of the house. It gets sun from dawn until 3 or 4pm so it’s a great room for plants. My late MIL taught me about plant care and indoor gardening is a terrific way for me to relax. The most important thing to know about African violets is to never get the leaves wet; they’ll permanently discolor and eventually die. Use a watering can with a long neck so you can get deep into the middle of the plant and not water it from above. From what I can see, your plant looks gorgeous and healthy!

Your sunroom sounds like a human (and plant) battery charger. I had read about not getting leaves wet. I’m sure I have a long neck waterer around somewhere. It really started to take off when I moved it from the east window to the south and west windows and started feeding it with my waterings.

That all sounds great. If it’s been in the same pot for a long time, you might want to think about repotting in a larger pot but don’t go too big. It should really take off! The AV flowers are so gorgeous.

I forgot to mention that I did re-pot it a couple of months ago. That probably contributed to it’s development :)

p.s. Glad to hear you’re a Ginger Baker fan. I really love this song!

Yeah, he was terrific. He was the drummer for Cream with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce.

Thanks, Randy! It’s weird how the whole sphere showed up, as all I saw was the crescent.
