I am today’s host of dVerse’ Poetics. I say:
write about Leap Year, leaping, or an ekphrastic to the given image.

Cats have a wonderful way of enjoying sunshine… tied so well to the image.

Yes they do. And it happens just like that. They have trained me well.

I’m sure your kitties have their ways just like mine. They say dogs are creatures of habit, but I think cats are doubly so. Glad the poem made you smile :)

We have two kittens who are some feral leapin’ lizards … taking drapes, glassware, flower arrangements down with ’em. “Leaping into bright” as if it were prey …

Wonderful and lively with active imaginations. They keep you two leaping with their leaps. My two were adults when I got them so they were out of their kittenness.

Ain’t that the truth! As Iisten to purrs and chirps and meows on the other side of my bedroom door, trying to convince me to open up. Nope.

Aw, reminds me of our two cat ladies, though they look very different. But they also like to hang out close to each other by the window! :-)

Laura, I just go to Colleen’s TankaTuesday page. We’re working on a 24 seasons challenge for a year and she’s gathered 24 forms for us to use if we choose.

Discovering that this form can be sung as a folk song, I returned to your poem for another read-thru and yes, I felt the music.

Lithe and loose, rolling into the sunlight. Very purr-worthy and has the effect of extending my back, wriggling my angels-wing-shoulder-blades, extending my velvet paws in greeting to you Lisa xxx

Welcome, Dwight. Thank you. Yes, they are. I’ve heard that cats and poets are difficult to herd I’ve seen no evidence to the contrary lol

My cat is a replica of my personality, she is as lazy as me, and sometimes she sleeps so deeply, I get scared that something happened to her…. Cats😅😁
