Flower Girl
May’s home is a magnet, where family and friends gather in goodwill. Tokens of guests’ appreciation likewise gather on the cabinet; as reminders of what is important. Flower Girl takes center stage, a reminder of Tessy, her long lost friend.
Photos are e-mailed afterwards between all, to share with others as afterglow.
In Dee’s after-Christmas’ send, May notices that Flower Girl’s face is hidden. It must be a glitch in the camera. She runs to the desktop computer, where all downloaded photos are meticulously foldered. It’s no glitch.
She runs to the cabinet. The tiny face is wet with tears.

Nancy mentioned a TZ epi and I think it would make a great plot for an episode. Imagining Sir Rod narrating my story as the intro :)

There you go! Yes it would be…it sounds better than the camera episode they have.

I love this original take, Lisa. How often we see things in photos that we didn’t see when we took them… then again, in this case, there are otherworldly reasons, surely!

Looking at photos, especially of someone we’ve lost can be sadly joyous. I lost my friend of 32 years the end of January, This story resonated with me, bringing a sad feel. Nicley done … Izzy 😎

Thank you so much, Jade. I could feel the hugs. 🤗 It was unexpected. She went into the hospital for a surgical procedure due to a fall. Cancer was discovered then. A week later she passed away. SAD … !!!❤️🙏🏻

Oh no :( So much worse when it is unexpected. It’s so difficult to lose people close to us.

Oh this is great, so sad and sweet. A little bit of Tessa’s ghost or soul or spirit or whatever must have remained with May. They must have loved each other very much.

Dear Lisa,
Mysterious and ethereal. As has been mentioned before it does have a TZ feel to it. In my mind that’s a good thing. ;) Well done.

A very poignant ending, to an eerily familiar phenomenon. I looked back over some school photographs once and found that the face of one of my class mates was blurred on every photo. She had died later, while still in her teens. Good one.

Wow! Great take on the prompt, Lisa. The camera captures what the eyes do not. I wonder now who the ‘Flower Girl’ is. Would love to know more about this story.

This reminds me of poorly lit dog pictures where their eyes reflect the flash and they look evil or possessed. Unlike your Flower Girl who is revealed to hiding something, I hope it’s just a trick of the light for the dogs.

lol on the demon dog eyes. As long as they don’t start commanding you to harm others, you should be safe (notice I didn’t command you to do things, as we all know you’re under their command for everything else ;) )

Good eye spotting that small detail and making a story on that. This was equal parts spooky and magical. If you ever decide to expand on this story it’d be fun to see where you go with it!
