The Oracle Speaks: Diamond Lies

Diamond Lies

You dress love’s language
in a thousand mist whispers,
tongues singing my ache
with sleepy urges.
I ask why these diamond
chants are dreamed
— and lie.

Lovely Marbled White butterfly (Melanargia galathea).

Some diamonds can loose their luster if love is lost…

Jules, thank you for IDing the butterfly. I took that picture shortly after moving here in 2011. It was out back on white blossoms (maybe astilbe?) I’ve manipulated the image with a filter also.

You’re so right about some diamonds :(

I’ve got books and a deck of cards that helps me ID butterflies (and a bunch of other stuff).

It’s so funny how the online version puts the words on the board askew and won’t let you straighten them. 😄 I enjoyed your poem.

It is funny and irritating too. But also free :) Happy you enjoyed it, Maria.

You are very much in cahoots with the Oracle! I’ve been wanting to make my acquaintance but still feel myself unworthy.

Dale now you stop that right now. I want to see you and The Oracle sing a duet. Let her lead.
