Friday Favorite Feature 34 — fmg 050724

Since it’s been so busy I’ve been behind in posting, reading, and processing pics taken.  I went through the pics from 050724 yesterday while taking breaks in working in the yard.  As you will begin to see, I share pics of Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park (fmg) often but you will rarely see repeats, which should show you how vast and varied the place is in its eye candy.  Most were taken in the arid garden, a few in the carnivorous plant garden, and a couple in the tropical.  Mimi’s Garden (couldn’t find the origin story of the name.) The giant frog has been at fmg since the beginning or close to it.

Yes. Both at my home in Mexico and at my friend Sharon’s house in Berkeley. She’s astounding.

Yes, they are very cool. They have some hanging in there also. We usually skip the carnivorous plant garden, but this time we went through it.

I have a carnivorous plant when I was a kid…I ordered it out of a comic book…it grew and it ate flies… I still find them interesting.

That’s cool you ordered one from a comic book. Did you ever buy the x-ray glasses?

The plant life there is extraordinary; much of it reminds me of the exotic species we northerners experience in our city’s conservatory, The Leaf. Beautiful photos!

Steve it really is. I don’t know how they manage it. I think they have a dedicated corps of volunteers.
