My easel and Botanical Poet magnetic poetry kit arrived on Wednesday. Of course I immediately had to write a poem. This set is not available to play online. The Oracle was in a giving mood today.

Separating all of the words from each other was a bit of a chore. Laying them out enough to see ones to choose was a bit daunting, but it worked. Thanks, Colleen, and yes, it is :)

Hey, we’re of an age. Did you ever get those sort of see-through plastic sheets that stuck to the TV and you could draw on them over whatever was on the TV? I think it might have been made for a specific children’s show, actually. The late ’60s….?

It WAS a hoot. But I think there were a lot of accidental straying off the plastic onto the actual TV or something, ’cause I don’t remember them being around at all when I got a little older, lol

lol guessing the folks didn’t like marring the screen. I *do* remember kissing the tv screen movie stars! Do you remember a show called, “Adventures in Paradise” starring Troy Donahue? It and he just popped into my mind. I remember kissing his face on the TV :)

I found the series but stars Gardner McKay as Adam Troy, and he’s pretty cute so it was probably him.

That sounds familiar, Li, but I don’t remember watching it… I don’t think I kissed the TV, but I definitely mooned over lots of teen idols back in the day along with everyone else, lol !

It was probably at the urging of my cousin, Susie, with whom we both practically lived at my grandparents’ house. Both moms were too busy with various things besides parenting and dropped us there. We didn’t mind. (I should have mentioned this was at my grandparents’ where I kissed the TV.) Cousin was almost 5 years older than me but she was very small for her age and I was very large so we looked about the same age.

I’ve had some kits like this… I find them too limiting. I think they are good starting points. Their limited words make one write as if creating a Zen Koen. A life lesson that has a lasting impression and a deeper meaning.

Thanks, Jules. I think there are plenty of words, but physically spreading them out so they can be seen is a little daunting. I like the online version but they only show about 20 words or so at a time.

Many years ago I had a few sets. I picked up a baking sheet at a charity shop…. You can display a good many words and still have room for verse. :)
