Great shots, Lisa. My grandparents had a wild grape vine and that thing exploded every Summer. They “shaped it” each year to keep it looking a bit less wild, but it always was among the very first things that caught one’s eye when on their property. Nice to see the rhubarb enjoying itself “post-op.”🙂

Thanks, Bruce. I’ve not tried to trip it but nice is is in your memory as a fixture in your grandparents’ yard :) Yes, now that the rhubarb is in the ground, things can get at the leaves to nibble them. Knowing the leaves are poisonous to humans, let them eat them, as long as they leave the stalks alone. The blackberries are relentless and always a menace when mowing. Am really pleased at how the milkweed and zebrina mallow are filling in.

Thanks for the tour of your yard. I love that you have space for all the flowers and trees. That larch is amazing! I like those striped mallows, a lot too! :)

My pleasure, Barbara. This is the 2nd or 3rd spring for the larch and I think it is starting to feel at home :) I bought one of the mallows a few years back and you see what happened!

So lush! We used to pick blackberries across the railroad track when I was a kid. I still love them. (K)

I love them too and glad you remember them from childhood. It would be a full-time job to pick all of the ones around here. They lurk around the edges of the perimeter, ready to strike. The birds love them, and they are welcome to them.

Love blackberries…we had some at the end of our drive but they accidently got cut down… the lighthouse light looks really cool.

I’m shocked they never grew back. They’re pretty tenacious. Thanks on the lighthouse. I’m learning the ways of the solar light in it. #1 it lights at dusk and has enough charge to go until around 2 a.m. which isn’t too bad. #2 the solar panel doesn’t charge in overcast weather :(

I love the wildness of it all, Lisa!

Cool :) I got out there again today when I went to put some kitchen scraps in the compost pile and noticed 2 things worth taking pics of: 1) an abandoned humongous paper wasp nest that I totally missed (but mowed near all summer!); and 2) dancing daisies out in the field. Pics forthcoming in the near future.

Excellent! I see your sun and I keep thinking I have to put mine out there. Actually, I think it is a Sun/Moon. Been so long, I’ve forgotten! As for the wasp nest, I had a surprise the other day. I found one in my shed. I flipped it out before I could think. Then I went back to it and saw that it was empty. I put it on the table with the intention of photographing it. Went back later, picked it up to take the picture and it started buzzing! 3 little buggers had decided to use it. Scared the crap out of me.
Dancing daisies out in the field! Yes! Looking forward to the pics.

Cool on your sun/moon. One of my friends gave me that when she moved. That old swing was also given to us when we moved here. My ex’ dad and stepmom were getting a new one and this one was worn out, but it serves well as garden shelving. Omg I’d freak out too with those buggers deciding to reuse last years nest. This one is way up out of reach, thankfully. Under the eave of the building but got a little beat up over the winter.

Yeah. I think I know where it is. I figure I’ll put it up against my tired old rickety fence ;-)
I love when old things are repurposed.
Yeah. I have to say I proceeded to destroy the thing. Do not need wasps hanging around my backyard!
