Some pics taken last Sunday when the fam and I went to the lake and then for ice cream afterwards. The grandbaby loved “swimming” in Lake Michigan and spent most the time in a shallow pool.
The next pic of the kousa dogwood tree in blossom were taken at the dentist. It took some finagling to be clean and ready to get to the Thursday afternoon appointment.

Not sure if it is because of the heat or the rain, but the garden at the library is fantastic. Why I didn’t charge my phone while I did drop off and pick up is a mystery.
I finally got out to mow the yard and back field and came across these beauties growing wild. Pl@ntNet Identifies them as bird’s foot trefoil.

The last pics are of something you know I’ve been waiting for. The two blossoms didn’t last long. One more bud is still developing. Good times.

awesome photos Lisa! :D I hope you had a good fun day at the lake! xo

We did. It was a perfect day. The heat dome was gone and we went later in the afternoon to avoid sunburn.

Pretty flowers, and I’m glad your power came back on. Hope not too much damage to your plants or house in the storm. :)

Thank you, Barbara. It stormed all the previous day and all night. The area got hit bad for trees. I think the neighbor had a tree come down in the woods that fell on the line. The plants were happy for the rain and the house was untouched, thank goodness.

It was the first time ever for my granddaughter to go into Lake MI. Yes, it is. Have lived near it all of my life.

The “bird’s foot trefoil” looks awesome. I never heard of that. I like the Dogwood as well.

Thanks, Max. I recently joined a facebook group about native MI plant species. I put the pic in there and they said it’s an invasive species and I need to pull it up quick. Too bad as it’s very pretty. Yes that dogwood is gorgeous, and every blossom will be a fruit soon.
