Congrats, Lisa, time flies, especially when you have fun, doesn’t it?😀
I recently got my 8-year notification from WordPress. When I started in June 2016, I really wasn’t sure whether I would stick with it. I’m glad I did.
In addition to blogging being a welcome escape hatch from all the craziness surrounding us, I feel I’m learning a lot about music from my fellow bloggers.

Oh really, I thought you’d been at it longer. I got the blog started when I was still working, in 2017, but didn’t start really writing regularly until after I retired in 5/2018. Make sure you do a special blog post on that day ok?

You won’t believe this…I started to post regular around May of 2017 if I remember right. I only posted around 1 a month or so up until around that time with no followers until Hans found me.
I sure will! I may repost my first post.

Thanks, Dana! Question: may I ask the origin story of your blog name? I live about 50 miles from Grand Rapids and the Devos name is big there.

Thank you for the question. I enjoy writing Christian devotional-like posts and, not being a theologian, I came up with Regular Girl Devos, the devo being short for devotion or devotional writing. I like to show how the Bible still relates to modern day living. I hope that helps! What does Devos mean in Grand Rapids?

Thank you so much for explaining, Dana. I’m glad I asked. Have you heard of Amway products? Devos and Vanandel are the founders of it and it makes them a ton of money, which gives them a lot of power and influence in GR even though the company is based in the burb of Ada. They have donated huge sums to the city to beautify it, which is the light side of the equation.

I know I’ve been with WP for over 10 maybe 12 or more years. And the folks I’ve met have made me want to stay and share 💕💌💖

That’s a long time. I participated in different listserv, dejanews groups, yahoo groups, blogger, and usenet since 1995. Some were better than others. I love the blogging format of WP best, I think. Even with its ghost in the machine glitches, I have no plans to leave <3

I started net life on a free book exchange site. I also had a Blooger site, but let that drop since WP didn’t play nice… and there were other issues I didn’t care for.
As long as I can have fun – I’ll stay :)

Cool, and I’m glad we each found our way to WP. I actually got here when I asked one of my sons about building a website for a task force I was on for work. He suggested WP. We never built the website, but I decided to create an account for myself. Thanks, son!
