I was going to say how good you look, but Sadje beat me to it. And I agree with every one of your certainties. (K)

I love your list, and your cheerful smile. Sadly, my marigold seeds from last year did not grow. I was super disappointed. I haven’t had any seeds germinate from this year’s plants either. First year ever!

Thanks, Marsha. It’s my list and ymmv. So sorry no seeds have germinated. What do you think is going on?

I think they might have been genetically modified.

I would have answered “nothing”, which you sorta did with #1, but then came up with 9 other pretty good ones. Libraries may be one of humanity’s greatest accomplishments.

Thanks, Steve. Agreed on libraries. If you haven’t read Susan Orleans’ book, _The Library Book_ I highly recommend it.

One of the truths I wish wasn’t so is that ‘absolute power corrupts absolutely.’ Humans, I guess. 🤓

Gia I would add that one as #11. Haven’t seen an exception to it yet :(

For a second I wasn’t sure that was you! What a great pic! Not that your profile pic ISN’T wonderful, but the filmy, dreamy quality of this one just amplifies everything.
Great list. Hubby would SO agree about music. He’s been getting into these special ear bud things that all help you hear music a slightly different way–some with more bass, some less treble, etc– and keeps wanting me to listen, which I do sometimes happily, but others I’m like, “Uh… in a minute?” and my lack of enthusiasm really chaps his ass, lol. I love music and it can transport me like anyone else, but he’s one of those, like a friend of mine (and sorry if I’m repeating myself) who actually said he’d rather be blind than deaf.
Where do you stand on that? For me, I’d rather be deaf if I had to choose. But that’s death for hubby, evidently, lol

I think that filmy, dreamy quality is my son’s cheap phone camera lol. Thanks for putting a positive spin on it.
Would definitely rather be blind than deaf. Total silence is unnerving to me and I might go insane in it. For that reason and for the music reason. The headphones sound peachy, almost like equalizers in a stereo system? What will they think of next.
Now if your hubby goes blind and you go deaf, you’ll *have* to stick close to each others’ sides and work as a team :)

Aaaaah! Don’t even joke about that, Li! lol I doubt we would survive something like that, hahaha :) Emotionally. :)

I agree with 4-7 and 9 &10, however, I think this idea that “everything is relative” and related philosophical conceits have been taken way too far. Anyone who really believed it would be incapable of making decisions. If it was true, then good decisions would just be a matter of good luck.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on them. With relativity, I guess it depends on if you see the world in black and white or in endlessly varying shades of grey.

I do see the world in varying shades; I just believe that those shades of color are real; muddled, but with an objective reality of their own not dependent on my subjective perception.

Thanks for saying more about your view. I also believe there is no view without a viewer. The viewer is integral to it.
