comment by Keith (aka Keef) :

Thought this deserves a repost. I live in a state where the GOP nominee for governor told church-goers that “some folks need killin’.” He’s speaking tonite at the Republican Convention in Milwaukee.

I’ve made this post public, so share, share away!

I’ve been following Keef’s work for years now, first — and still — at Funny Times but also at Patreon.

I’m so exhausted by all this. They wouldn’t know the truth if it landed on top of them and flattened them. They’ve told so many lies they can’t even keep them straight. (K)

Kerfe, they need to walk the moral, ethical labyrinth and try to find their way back to reality. What we are in the midst of now with our leaders bears no resemblance to integrity or safety.

Both sides have ramped it up too far. I watched a debate of Kennedy and Nixon the other day….they hated each other but you could not tell.

What I don’t understand is, despite the high state of agitation that is being televised, when I drive around town everything seems normal. I can’t say I felt that way while Drumpf was POTUS. At the same time, the neighbor’s target shooting has increased in frequency and amount of ammo being used.

I just learned that an innocent bystander was killed by the shooter. What next.

Civilized seems so far away for politicians these days.

Yes they were killed which is really terrible. … The major networks don’t help either. Remember growing up…we would hear the news and not their opinion? I guess the ratings would tank if they did that now. 24/7 news is not always good.
Oh civilized is gone…I don’t know if it will ever come back. I’m hoping in 4 years it will be better.

    2. During the 1968 campaign, Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley debated on TV. After trading insults, Buckley threatened to punch Vidal. They cut to a commercial.

I’ve watched some of those before and Cavett had them going at it…

That is funny in an absolutely scary way. How has your political system fallen so low that talking about killing opponents has any legitimacy whatsoever?

Sean, the upcoming election may be one of the most vital to democracy in the US yet. I think back to what 2016-2020 was like and my stomach starts hurting.

Boggles the mind that such people haven’t been charged over such matters, here they’d be in court tomorrow morning.

The thing is, Paul, when u-know-who was pres from 2016-2020 he put a bunch of judges on the benches of the lower courts, and we are learning the Supreme Court has been compromised even beyond the appointments he put in there. We’re in big trouble. One of the US Congress has called for the impeachment of 2 Supreme Court Justices, Clarence Thomas (a known groper of women) and Alito (whose wife flew an insurrection flag at their house.) Keep your fingers crossed and PRAY for the USA.
