The Oracle Speaks — Brother Time’s Caramel Pie

Brother Time’s Caramel Pie

Lingered over the window,
a child’s heart desires,
corduroy belly growling,
some delicious caramel pie.

Angel magic sails,
from fat-fired
sacred star, blush
that colors morning air
— and brother time —
with joy as boy
devours it.

Reading The Oracle’s offering today, my mind visualizes a hungry child looking in at a caramel pie at a bakery and wishing with all of his little heart he could have a slice. The prayer reaches the right ears and the baker walks out and hands the child a slice of caramel pie. Some prayers are answered and some stories do have happy endings. Thank you, Oracle.

What poem? I can’t get my eyes off the pie!
No JK… “with joy as boy devours it” a more honest phrase could not be said.

That was a rhubarb pie I made last year. It was tasty too. Am getting ready to do some canning. Sadly the purple reign tomatoes are too few and taking way too long to get ripe. It was a failed experiment. I will go back to the mortgage lifters next year. The peppers are doing good and can be used in the salsa. Wish I had grown zucchini again!

I looked really good…I couldn’t keep my eyes off of it…I bet it was good.
Oh last year you grew a lot of tomatoes right? I know those purple ones…Jennifer loves them and my sister does.
        I like zucchini….

Mmm! To both the pie and the words. Especially love this: “…from fat-fired sacred star”… where do you GET these images and thoughts from, Li? I need to borrow your brain…… :) :) :)
