There are 7 fish in the tank.
One is territorial,
a passionate bully.
She is afraid of nothing
except me,
the omnipotent deity
who stops once a day
to bring light and food
and passes by once in awhile.
This morning, on my daily
stop, I stayed.
She froze in her cave.
Six fish with full bellies.

A bully no more! I hope you are doing well Lisa.

I’m back for the day anyway! I had some time today and I wanted to talk to everyone again. I sure miss all of you….the interaction. Last weekend as I was painting I was really missing being in here…so I thought today I would post and talk some.

Well done, stopping the bully

I have learned also another method of neutralizing the bully: put them in a tank with a bunch of bigger fish. Unfortunately I don’t have a means to do that — yet!

The bully has been put in its place – at least temporarily.

It’s more external compliance while she’s in that tank. Like I mentioned to someone else, a “cure” could be putting her in a tank with much bigger fish, but again it’s external compliance.

lol. She froze long enough for the others to get to the fish flakes. No worries, Nolcha :)

Fish do have personalities. I know that from the series of beta fish my youngest had as a child. (K)

We’ve been having fun at the pond at Meijer Gardens. So many different color variations. One of my favorites is a dark colored fish with eyelashes. I think they are actually some kind of extended skin tags but they look like it. Granddaughter has learned what favorites mean. Sometimes we’re blessed with other little kids showing up. She shares the fish food with them and some have pointed out the ones they like.

Fantastic colours in that image. 🤩 I suddenly want clothes and jewels in all those hues.

Yes there are. The water in the north of MI gets that beautiful turquoise look to in some places. Isle Royal is a place where there is a protected and balanced population of wolves and moose.
